The auto industry has replied to the allegation of a leading car magazine that says the latest eco-friendly models fall far short of their claims.

The magazine, Auto Express, called into question the validity of the industry standard vehicle tests used by manufacturers to test emissions. The tests used by manufacturers fail to replicate real-world conditions.
