May 8, 2008 - Charities @ Work recently honored HP with the Charities @ Work 2008 Leadership Award for outstanding philanthropic spirit and commitment to its employee giving campaign.

Each year, the award recognizes one company that promotes the value of employees’ involvement in charitable giving. In presenting the award, Kalman Stein, president and CEO of Earth Share, said, "HP is a wonderful example of innovation, leadership and employee commitment to charity. The company has a long history of philanthropy and continues to demonstrate that commitment through its leadership and support of the annual employee giving program."

The Charities @ Work Leadership Award began in 1997 and is presented annually to one company that values effective workplace giving programs and promotes the active involvement of employees with charitable organizations. Previous recipients include Accenture, American Airlines, American Express, Pitney Bowes, Sears and Thomson West.

In addition to the national leadership award, recognition was given to four additional companies for achieving double digit increases in the annual employee giving campaign. Recognition awards were given to Ameriprise Financial, FINRA, Thomson Reuters and UnitedHealth Group.
