Winnipeg, Canada, February 27, 2007: When self-employed multimedia creator Dan Tombs was contacted by a Canadian charity about volunteering via the Internet, he did not realize the rewards and ease of helping from home -- a way of volunteering he had not known about."It [online volunteering] was actually more fulfilling than any of the work that I did for my clients in the past.... "said Tombs. ".... it was reaching out and helping somebody else and it was to me ... I just felt like I was doing something right when I was doing it and it felt really good," added Tombs.

Tombs, a multimedia designer who originally honed his craft in California, lives in a small rural community on the Canadian prairies (where satellite is his only option for a high speed Internet connection). For about the last six months he has been volunteering online as a video producer/editor with Winnipeg-based charitable organization Macdonald Youth Services (MYS).
