Close to four years ago, virtual volunteer Virginia Dakiniewich had noticed an online volunteer opportunity posted on Charity Village. Interested in this Internet-based volunteer research assistant position, the Saskatoon resident e-mailed Macdonald Youth Services (MYS) in Winnipeg, about 450 miles away. However, after she submitted her online volunteer application, it wasn’t long before MYS realized the myriad of new media skills she possessed. This is an interview with Dakiniewich about her involvement with the organization.
