Trinity College has launched a project assessing
the support provided to small and medium- sized companies in the delivery of
corporate social responsibility. The
college’s School of Computing, Business and Tourism Development units are
collaborating to look at what support is given to SMEs in key areas of CSR,
including sustainable employment practices, environmental management, community
support, procurement practices and ethical business practices.
They will
also identify examples of best practice of CSR in SMEs and how such practices
can be used for competitive advantage in the market place. One of the key aims of the project will
include testing the use of social networking tools for encouraging SMEs to take
part, developing networks, sharing technological expertise and promoting
excellence in sustainable business practice.
