Former
World Bank official Geoff Lamb was recently named new managing director of
public policy at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Lamb has been with the
company since 2006 when he left the World Bank to become a senior-advisor to
the Gates Foundation. The creation of this new position highlights the need for
the foundation to work closely with world-wide governments in order to achieve
successes in any area that relates to national laws and government services or
programs. Lamb’s role will also extend to maintaining the foundation’s vision
as more organizations look to it for help.
