it’s very easy to produce good stuff yourself. Small businesses and
even individuals are getting into producing their own biodiesel en masse. There’s even a new exchange now on which producers can sell their surplus diesel to interested parties.
With the eco-world on overdrive, overall skepticism in companies’
corporate social responsibility initiatives is higher among LOHAS
consumers, the portion of the population that is most interested in
sustainability and the earliest adopters of sustainable products, than
general population U.S. adults, according to research from the Natural Marketing Institute.
Defined by NMI as a “Greenwashing Washout,” partly driven by the fact
that current corporate sustainability messaging is ineffective, even
the most eager consumers question companies’ CSR.
The European Union's
plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the 27-member block
would hurt EU businesses, according to Germany's Economic Minister.
In
a statement released at a meeting on Tuesday of government and industry
officials, German Economics Minister Jochen Homann said, "The
conclusion of the conference is that there is only limited scope for
reducing emissions in the industrial sector and the EU climate package
needs improvement in key areas."

still unlikely to equate a smaller package with “lowered carbon
footprint,” the chances are exponentially greater that they’ve been
exposed to all the elements behind such designations.

Energy Financial Services closed more than $2 billion of renewable
energy transactions last year, and by 2010 expects they will comprise
20-25 percent of its overall energy and water portfolio, up from about
10 percent in 2006. Including the three new farms, GE Energy Financial
Services has invested or committed to invest equity worldwide in 76wind
farms, with a total capacity of more than 4,000 megawatts.
